The expresses the elements of the hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal(HPA) axis was one of the main nerve-endocrine regulation systems in the process of physical stress.Kin as the biggest organe, has also been proven to have ragulating function of peripheral nerve-endocine which similar to the HPA.The expression of the elements including corticotrophin releasing hormone, the corticotrophin releasing hormone receptors,pro-opiomelanocortin and glucocorticoids production can be detected.Multiple studies have shown that the expression of the elements of the HPA axis in the skin represents one of the important components of the local response to cutaneous stress.According to these findings,an assumption has been arised that the capability of the elements of the HPA axis expressed by skin may contribute to the wound healing program stimulated by cutaneous stress, such as skin injury, infection,or immune destruction.
