＂我相信总会有一天可以用水来做燃料,组成水的氢和氧可以单独或合在一起被使用。这将为热和光提供无限的来源。所供给的光和热是煤炭所无法达到的。所以我相信,一旦煤矿枯竭了,我们将会用水来供热和取暖。水将来是未来的煤炭。＂关于氢能源最早的文字记载,大概出自凡尔纳1870年写的科幻小说《神秘岛》上述文字，可见凡尔纳在那时就已经预见到用氢氧能源来取代枯竭的化石燃料。

And this kind of light and heat and its advantage can not be achieved by coal and other traditional energy.So once the coal mine dried up,we will come to heat water.Water will be the future of coal.'This is the first written record of hydrogen,probably from 1870,written by Jules Verne in the science fiction novel'Mysterious Island'.The above text shows that Jules Verne had predicted hydrogen energy to replace the exhausted fossil fuels. Why Jules Verne gave such a predictable idea might relate with British physicist and chemist Cavendish(1731-1810).In 1766 Cavendish produced hydrogen with six similar reactions.Zinc,iron,tin respectively reacted with hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid,and produced a kind of'combustible air'which was proved to be hydrogen.The'combustible air'was named for the'Hydrogen'.In Greek,'hydro'stands for the water,'gen'stands for the'source'.And the integration means the'water source'.Its chemical symbol is H also reflecting that the water is a compound of hydrogen and oxygen.
