The Mediterranean of Philippe II and the Mediterranean World（La Méditerranée et le Monde Méditerranéen à l＇époque de Philippe Ⅱ）is one of the most outstanding books written by Braudel.The author tried to make the Mediterranean history of Spanish king Philippe reign（1556-1598）as a whole.Though the comprehensive historical theory and problematic awareness,Braudel paid attention to environmental effect,the relationship between human and nature,and revealed the dual-role of interaction of people and environ-ment from the view of environmental history.
