The Literary Image of "Transition era"——On the social novel published in the early "Short Story Monthly"(1910-1920)

1910—1920年的《小说月报》因曾经是鸳鸯蝴蝶派的阵地而被否定。实际上,恽铁樵接任主编后就进行改革,登载了大量有价值的社会小说,其社会小说对政治思潮与社会变迁的反映、对婚姻自由与男女平权理念的张扬、对侨民问题与工人生存状态的关注等,均引人注目。从语言层面看,其早期白话小说语言尝试也为五四新文学的发展提供了借鉴。

In 1910 - 1920 years, the Short Story Monthly published a large number of valuable social novels. Their social novels of the reflection of political ideas and social change, the freedom of marriage and equal rights between men and women, the concerns of expatriate issues and workers in existence, arc striking. From the language level, their vernacular fiction have a unique outlook on the one hand to prove their own value, on the other hand evidence to the contrary of the necessity of the new literature.
