作为美国历史上第一位获得诺贝尔文学奖的黑人女性,托妮.莫瑞森的成功绝不是偶然的。随着西方社会进入后工业时期,后现代主义思潮的影响也逐渐被更多人关注。在文学领域,许多作家就运用后现代主义的"反本质中心"观念,质疑传统的话语权力关系,树立新的话语权威。托妮.莫瑞森也灵活的借用了这一观念,为黑人——这个被边缘化的人群争取了更大的叙述空间,同时,在这种创作观念的指导下,她重新组合叙事形态,运用自由视角、破碎拼贴等多种创作技巧,构造了一个崭新的黑人艺术世界,她的种种尝试,都推动了黑人文学的发展。
As the first female Mriean - American winner of a Nobel Prize in literature ,Toni Morrison' s success is not aecldental.
