桑叶不仅蛋白质含量高,纤维含量低,还含有多种天然活性物质,是一种很好的畜禽饲料资源。经过适宜的加工,桑叶可以作为反刍和单胃动物的饲料,具有替代能量饲料和蛋白质饲料的功能。桑叶含有单宁,添加比例过高可能会引起畜禽生产性能下降。桑叶与某些饲料原料在消化上存在负组合效应,饲喂时要注意添加配伍。

Mulberry leaves contain not only high protein as well as low fiber,but also natural active substances,making it a good livestock feed resource.It can be used as a replacer of energy and protein feeds for both ruminant and mono-gastric animals through appropriate processing.However,high inclusion of mulberry leaves in the diet may lead to decline livestock performance because of their tannins.Since mulberry leaves have negative associative effects with certain materials of diets,the dietary formulation using the leaves should be made caution in practice.
