This paper introduces the relevant requirements of TOFD image recognition and interpretation, including the following four aspects： detection principles, location and measurement, recognition and characterization of typical flaws, and self quality judgment of contrast. Being familiar to the basic skill of reading and interpretation of TOFD images is the bottle neck of grasping TOFD diagnostic techniques for welded joints in pressure equipment.
