“僰人悬棺”定名无误——兼析川南悬棺葬的族属问题

On the Problem about the Tribal Ownership of Cliff Cave Burial in Southern Parts of Sichuan

长期以来,关于川南"僰人悬棺"的定名问题,学术界争议颇大。有学者认为,应定名为"僚人悬棺",也有学者认为,应定为"都掌蛮悬棺"。笔者经多年来对史籍和地方史志的钻研,认为"僰人悬棺"定名无误,川南悬棺葬的族属即为僰人,也就是明代的都掌蛮。

The name about ＂the suspended coffins in cliff cave of Bo people＂ in southern parts of Sichuan province has become a hot academic debate for a long period. Some scholars argue that it should be named ＂suspended coffins of Liao people＂ ,or some others think it as ＂suspended coffins of Duzhangmang people＂. After having studied the historical and local records about it,the writer of the paper holds that the name ＂the suspended coffins in cliff caves/by cliffs of Bo people＂ is really correct. Bo people possessed the tribal ownership of cliff cave burial in southern parts of Sichuan,which were the the Duzhangmang people in Ming Dynasty.
