Xu Zhimo is a complicated and peculiar poet in Chinese modern literature.He has formed his own style of creation because he thinks that the nature of poetry is to express the poet＇s emotions freely,an idea based on traditional Chinese literary theory;and at the same time,he has been influenced by such western thoughts as democracy and science.Therefore there is a peculiar artistic style in his poems,being pure,free,and full of various expression forms in expressing his understanding of both Chinese culture and Western culture.
