知识经济的到来必将使传统的经济发展模式发生根本性的改变，也必将给资源科学的发展带来挑战和机遇。知识经济时代的资源科学在内容上将主要研究信息资源和智力资源的开发及空间配置对经济的影响，并从更深的层次上来认识人地关系和资源的持续利用对社会发展的影响。知识经济时代资源科学的区域性将突出表现为研究的开放性、创造性和实用性；资源科学的综合性将由侧重自然资源的研究转向社会经济资源的研究，更重视资源开发的系统性；资源科学的国际性将倡导资源的系统观和全球观。在研究的方法上将采用先进的信息技术如网络技术、数字技术和虚拟现实技术。面对知识经济的到来，资源科学的发展问题将表现为学科的创新问题、持续发展问题及人才的培养和储备问题。

The advent of Knowledge Economy will bound to be leading to the fundamental changes in the models of traditional economic development,and so will be bringing challenge and opportunity for resources science development.In the times of knowledge economy,resources science will mainly study.in terms of content,the influence of development of information and intelligence resources as well as space arrangement on economy,and approach from even higher level the recognition of influence of man land relationship and sustainable utilization of resources on social development.In the times of knowledge economy,the regionality of resources science will give emphasis on creativity,practicability and openness in terms of study;the comprehensiveness of resources science will be transferred from matural resources oriented study to socio economy oriented study,focusing even more on systematization of resources exploitation;and the internationality of resources science will advocate systematic and global perspectives in resources.Sophisticated information technology such as network technology,digital technology,and virtual reality technology will be adopted as means of sutdy.Facing the advent of the knowledge economy,the key problems for resources science will appear as disciplinary innovation and sustainable development as well as personnel training and preservation.
