酒泉地区农业、旅游、矿产资源丰富，产业基础较好。该区的发展应以两个转变和可持续发展为指导，大力发展外向型产业，构筑“枢纽型”经济，加强与境内或周边中央、省属骨干企业和单位的区域经济关联，在发展中逐步调整产业结构。
Jiuquan District has relative favourable industrial foundation and rich agricultural,tourist and mineral resources.It is suggested that the district's construction should center around “two transformations” and sustainable development,energetically develop external oriented industry,establish “hub model” economy,strengthen regional economic linkages with those of central and provincial backbone enterprises in the core and peripheral areas of the district,progressively adjust the industrial structure in the process of development.
