In comparing the distribution of phenotypic frequency between two groups,the x^2 test of k×2 contingency table is not adequate while the Hardy-Weinbery model holds for the population being compared.A suitable method is suggested by the present authors to test the difference in distribution of gene frequency at a given locus between two groups.The principle and application of this method are presented in the paper.
