中国大学生英语会话中的回指修补研究 被引量:6

A Study of Anticipatory Retracing in English Conversation by Chinese University Students

摘要 会话修补中的回指现象,是指话者在实施修补时,往往会回到修补成分的开始处,而不是直截了当地在错词后实行修补。话者为了帮助听者解决话语的连接问题,会采用不同的回指修补策略。本研究应用中国学习者英语口语语料库,采用定量和定性相结合的方法,探讨中国非英语专业大学生英语会话中回指修补①的模式和策略使用特征,比较他们与本族语者在回指起始词使用上的异同。研究发现,大学生在英语口语回指修补上自我重复所占比例最高,重组和插入策略所占比例很少,这反映出大学生在语言信息加工和语言在线处理方面能力的特点;而且他们在回指起始词使用上与本族语者有明显差异。本文借用认知心理学的注意力理论来解释结果,并指出本研究对大学英语口语教学的启示。 Anticipatory retracing signifies that the speaker retraces to and repeats some words prior to the trouble element. In order to accommodate the listener's continuation problems, the speaker may employ different strategies by anticipatory retracing. This paper investigates anticipatory retracing based on College Learners' Spoken English Corpus. It explores the features of anticipatory retracing in terms of strategy uses by Chinese university students. A comparison is also made between Chinese university students and native speakers in their utilizations of initial words of retraced constituents. The research has found repetition significantly outnumbered any other strategy categories, which indicates the features of interlanguage in terms of information processing and online language processing. The results are discussed in the light of two-process theory of attention. The paper points out that the anticipatory retracing deserves teachers' attention in a speaking class.
