群众文化既是有史以来存在的社会文化现象,也是当前文化建设领域的重要组成部分,具有重要的社会功能和文化价值。作为一种文化现象,群众文化对于社会群体具有娱乐、交流功能,仪式、团结功能,群体认同功能,象征、符号功能。对于文化建设而言,群众文化为主导文化建设提供平台,是精英文化的母体和基础,为文化产业开辟市场,为非物质文化遗产的保护提供支撑,这些体现了它的文化价值。从两个层面展开对群众文化功能和价值的研究,具有重要的理论意义和现实意义。

As a social cultural phenomenon,the history of mass culture is very long,and is an important part of the field of cultural construction,which have important social functions and cultural values.As a cultural phenomenon,it has entertainment and communication function,ceremony and unity function,group identity function and symbols function.For culture construction,the mass culture provides a platform-building to the dominant culture;and plays a role of the mother and infrastructure for the elite culture,and opens up the market for cultural industries;and provides support for non-material cultural heritage,which reflects its cultural values.From the two levels of functionality or value of the mass culture studies,important theoretical significance and practical significance were produced.
