The characteristics, the selection of rated capacity, power factor, rated speed and voltage and voltage regulator range, the structural type, the cooling method and the starting and braking methods of generator-motor were analyzed comprehensively. The parameters of generator-motors for Heimifeng and Bailianhe pumped-storage power stations were introduced herein.
