Analysis on the Technique for Separation of Ammonium Salt from Mother Liquor by Thermal Method in the Hou's Process for Soda Manufacture

This paper introduces the technique for separation of ammonium salt from mother liquor by thermal method, where the solubility difference between glauber＇s salt and ammonium chloride in different temperature is utilized. At higher temperature, sodium chloride and sodium sulfate are crystallized through evaporation and ammonium chloride is salted out through evaporation at lower temperature. This principle has optimized the process for the production of salt and glauber＇s salt. Also the technical characteristics of this process and the related equipment are introduced
