摘要
通用申请破产保护,金融危机虽是"导火索",但其背后有更深层次原因。其主要原因有:通用为追求利润,降低产品"差异化"的愿景,未能厘清什么对自己最重要;通用固有的心智模式,阻碍其变革;通用并购的品牌未能成功整合,共同愿景难以形成;通用组织规模大,官僚主义滋生,阻碍团体学习;通用未能从整体看待问题,为解决资金紧张,依赖金融衍生品,而其根本问题长期得不到解决。
Behind the superficial cause of the financial crisis when GM applied for bankruptcy lay some complicated reasons. First,while GM sought profit to fulfill the company vision of reducing the product "disparities" ,it failed to recognize the essentials for its growth. Secondly,its innate thinking mode had been barriers for its reform. Thirdly,the brands GM had acquired did not succeed in integrating so that a shared vision did not come into being. Fourthly,GM's huge organization scale had resulted in the spread of bureaucracy,which hurt its organizational learning. Finally,without a holistic look when making decisions,GM counted solely on financial derivatives when troubled by capital shortage so that the root problems long remained unsolved.
