Grice＇s cooperative principle and four categories of maxims, as an important theory of conversa- tional implieature in pragmaties, enlighten oral English teaching. The researcher analyzes the problems of oral Eng- lish teaching from the view of cooperative principle and four categories of maxims, and provides some solving meth- ods. The research testifies the close relation between cooperative principle and oral English teaching, and facilitates the quality of oral English teaching.
