In the paper, Mao Zedong’s thoughts on the value of life are deeply analyzed. It presents that in the ultimate question of life and death, Mao Zedong persists perennially the concept of life and death materialistically, consociates life and death dialectically, and forms the mature and scientific thoughts on the value of life which are greatly affected by Chinese traditional culture and the historical materialism of Marxism-Leninism.
