Objective To detect the change of visuospatial working memory on span and accuracy in patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI).Methods 20 MCI patients diagnosed by the scores of clinical memory test and Blessed-Roth daily life assessment, and 20 matched normal controls took saccade memory test and filled in the disappeared digits in the right places. Results MCI patients had a lower accurate ratio than controls in saccade memory test and the difference was of significance (P0.05).The velocities of saccade was not significant (P0.05).The amounts of correct numeric location recurred between the two groups had no significant difference (P0.05).MCI patients needed longer time to show the digits for the best encoding effect than controls and the difference was statistically significant (P0.05).Conclusion In MCI patients, the central executive system of visuospatial working memory dose work and the capacity of visuospatial sketchpad is preserved, but the accuracy of the sub-memories' primary process in the visuospatial sketchpad decreased,so that MCI patient's visuospatial working memory has declined accuracy and normal span.
