Analysis on the Role and Function of Religion in the Process of Social Integration in America

宗教思想和宗教力量渗透于美国社会的各个层面,在社会整合运行中充当着重要的角色,并发挥着重要的功能。研究美国宗教,可以得出以下结论:一是以《圣经》为基础构建美国自由主义核心价值观;二是宗教具有更大的包容性,多元的宗教能够为美国大众提供共同的理想。三是宗教能够维护伦理、抵制邪恶,发挥着道德规范的软力量;四是宗教作为社会的净化剂,解决美国社会的各种问题,从整体上缓和社会矛盾、维护社会稳定。

In the US,the religious thought and the religious power infiltrate society＇s each stratification plane,play a significant role in the social integration,and exert important functions.This paper elaborates the problem from four aspects.Firstly,religion on the basis of Holy Bible constructs the core value of American liberalism;secondly,the religion has a great inclusiveness,the multi-dimensional religion can provide the common ideal for the American populace;thirdly,the religion can maintain ethics,resist evil,display soft strength of the moral standard;fourthly,as the social decontaminating agent,religion can solve many problems in American society such as alleviating the social contradiction,maintaining social stability.
