Liu Shi-pei's Refutation to Kang You-wei's Reform Theory

刘师培对"古文伪经说"的驳难主要在两个层面上进行,一是从梳理今古文经的关系入手,阐发自己的看法;二是以《左传》研究为核心,批驳今文学家的说法。整体而言,驳难确在某些方面击中了要害,在当时的政治语境中发挥了应有作用。但这一驳难毕竟是在传统领域中进行,缺乏经学以外的现代学术资源的介入,加之受制于双方固有的学术门户,所以存在较为明显的局限性。

After Wuxu Reform, Liu Shi-pei refuted Kong You-wei＇s reform theory. In Liu＇s viewpoint, guwenjing was credible, and Zuo Zhuan was not fabricate by Liu Xin, and Confucius was not ancient king. the refutation Liu showed his ability of guwenjingxue, and obviated the hindrance of anti-Manchu revolution.
