On the basis of its precedents the author of this thesis tries to study the translation of the culture-specific words in the context of the culture differences,linguistic features and translation modes and find out some applicable approaches to handle these kinds of words by exploring the translation strategies of the culture-specific words in the subtitle of the film ＂the Curse of Golden Flower＂,directed by Zhang Yimou.
