系统功能语言学把隐喻式从类别上分为概念隐喻、人际隐喻和语篇隐喻。情态隐喻是系统功能语法中人际隐喻的重要组成部分。本文以系统功能语法中的语法隐喻为理论依据,重点分析人际语法隐喻中的情态隐喻,进而探讨情态隐喻研究在社论英语中的功能。

according to systemic-functional grammar,metaphor includes ideational metaphor,interpersonal metaphor and textual metaphor.And the modality metaphor is an integral part of interpersonal metaphor.This paper starts with a brief introduction of Grammatical metaphor in Hallidayan Functional Grammar,and then focuses on the discussion of the metaphors of modality and the its effect on the editorial.
