[Objective]To study the effect of nursing intervention on reducing the adverse reactions caused by iodine contrast agent in the intravenous pyelography(IVP).[Methods]258 patients with IVP were randomly divided into the intervention group(130 cases) and the control group(128 cases). The control group received the conventional care, and the intervention group was given cognitive intervention, psychological intervention and behavior intervention on the basis of conventional care.[Results]In the intervention group, there were 57 patients with mild adverse reactions(43.8%) and one patient with moderated adverse reactions(0.8%),and the incidence of severe adverse reaction was 0.In the control group, there were 86 patients with mild adverse reactions(67.1%),3 patients with moderated adverse reactions(2.3%) and 2 patients with severe adverse reaction(1.6%).The incidence of adverse reaction caused by iodine contrast agent in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group significantly(P0.05).[Conclusion]The appropriate nursing interventions can effectively prevent and reduce the incidence of adverse reaction caused by iodine contrast agent, and make the IVP more successful.
