我国对沃尔特·司各特研究的初步述评

A General Comment on the Studies of Scott in China

我国对沃尔特·司各特的研究起源于20世纪初期对他的作品的引入,到现在为止这一项研究可以称作是渐入佳境。但我国现阶段对于沃尔特.司各特的研究仍然存在一些问题。首先,绝大部分研究都集中在对司各特的小说,而对于他的诗作却没有给予足够重视;其次,对小说的研究也多半集中于描写苏格兰史实的长篇小说,对于他后期的作品以及短篇小说作品缺乏深入细致的研究;再次,对于司各特小说的研究的角度也仅局限于浪漫主义、作品中历史的评论和社会阶级分析等方面,而生态批评方面仅仅是个开始。

The study of Walter Scott in China started early in the 20th century when his works were introduced to China.Now such a study can be said to have achieved a great deal.However,there exist at the present period of time some problems in our researches on Walter Scott.First,most researches are concentrated on his novels.Insufficient attention has been paid to his poems.Second,the study of his novels focuses mostly on those depicting the history of Scotland with a lack of careful study on his later works and short stories.And third,the study is limited in the analysis of romanticism,historical comments of the works and the analysis of social classes.An ecological criticism has just begun.
