The Research on the Modernity of Zhang Ailing's Prose

现代性不仅包括"社会现代性",是时间性质的一种命名,还包括"审美现代性",是人类思想价值的一种基本类型。张爱玲的散文创作激活了五四文学中的小传统,创造了日常现代性的基本形态,完成了散文现代性话语转换。她的全部作品,有一种具有兼容性的人生态度,它既蕴含了生活中的美,也涵盖了生活中的丑。后人标榜的现代与后现代派,在她那里都可以寻到踪影。

Modernity includes not only ＂social modernity＂ which is to give a name considering the aspect of history, but also ＂aesthetic modernity＂ which is a basic type of human thought. Zhang Ailing＇s prose writing started a literary tradition for literature created around the May 4th Movement and coined a basic pattern of secular modernity and completed the conversion of modernity discourse of prose. Her prose bears a life attitude, covering both beauty and ugliness in our life. Traces of both modernism and postmodemism promoted by later writers and critics can be found from her works.
