Cultural and Historical Connotations of Catalpa ovata and Its Ways of Application in Landscape Greening

梓树在中国栽培历史悠久,是优良的观赏和用材树种;但是目前在园林绿化中应用不多,而且资源有逐渐衰退的趋势。依据相关文献,概述了梓树的种质资源和生物学特性,总结了梓树的文史内涵,阐述了梓树在园林绿化中的多种应用方式,以推动其开发利用。

With a long cultivated history in China,Catalpa ovata is the valuable timber and famous ornamental tree specie.But nowadays,it＇s not used enough in landscape greening and its resources show a gradually declining tendency.Based on the relative literatures,this paper gave a brief commentary on the germplasm resources and biological characteristics of Catalpa ovata,summarized the cultural and historical connotations,and described the ways of application in landscape greening in order to promote its exploitation and utilization.
