This paper discusses some essential qualities of hospital library＇s director from three aspects of the professional ethics,professional knowledge and working ability, and points out that the director of hospital library, who possesses abovementioned qualities, can do well the work of hospital library, and give full play to the functions of hospital library in serving for clinical medical treatment, science research,teaching and management service.
