在人类文明之初,原始的语言尚未成熟之前,符号在造型艺术中承担着重要的角色。它以视觉形象承载着信息传递的职能进行文化沟通。在文字语言诞生以后,符号的语言作用逐渐被淡化,但已积淀在造型艺术的符号精神却长久地保存了下来。在现代设计领域中,人们依然热衷于造型符号的运用,甚至有人认为我们正生活在人类有史以来造型艺术符号语言最为发达的时代,造型艺术符号已经成为我们生活当中不可缺少的形式语言。探讨现代造型艺术中的符号语言表达,提出符号语言在造型艺术中的概括性、象征性,以及符号对造型艺术中主体精神与物质世界的语言表达,旨在为造型艺术创作的符号语言表达提出方法论上的指导。

In the beginning of human civilization,and before the original language is not yet ripe, symbols plays an important role in the plastic arts. It carries a visual image of the cultural transmission of information communication functions. After the birth of written language, the role of symbolic language is gradually being diluted. But symbols have been accumulated in the spirit of the plastic arts has long preserved. In the field of modem design, people are still keen to the use of plastic symbols. Some even think that we are living in the plastic arts symbols language in the most developed of the times in human history. Plastic Arts symbols have become indispensable in the form of language in our life. This paper discusses the symbolic language of modem plastic art expression, plastic language proposed in the plastic arts in general and symbolic, and the language expression of the symbols on the plastic arts in the subjective spirit and the material world.
