The worldwide action of saving energy and reducing emissions provides the background of humidity-controlling materials（HCM） applied on building energy conservation.we systematically discussed the function principles,assessment indexes and classification of HCM,which focused on the lately research progress of compound HCM.And the development trend and research direction of HCM were proposed.
