Gong Jing,a senior at Hubei University of Economics,recently posted her thesis,Studies into a Full-time Wife’s Social Value,on the Internet.Gong suggested that a full-time wife acts as her husband’s "employee," as she plays 10 professional roles—such as babysitter,kindergarten teacher, psychologist,financier and nutritionist—at home.Gong also suggested, according to the salary standards in Wuhan,Hubei’s provincial capital, a full-time wife may create,every month,9,600 yuan(US $1,412) worth of value(the average monthly salary of the local residents is less than 2,500 yuan(US $368).Gong’s thesis has generated much discussion and,as a result,many people are now carefully considering the social value of a full-time wife.
