在南京大屠杀期间,由日方当局严密控制下的日本新闻传媒,大量刊登前方随军记者发回的刻意捏造的文字与图片报道,尽力掩盖与粉饰日军攻占南京后实施大屠杀的严酷现实,凭空虚构出一幅社会秩序已迅速恢复、中国居民安居乐业、感激日军的"祥和"景象。日本新闻传媒在日军南京大屠杀期间完全歪曲和颠倒事实的报道手法与宣传内容,遭到了西方记者的反驳与中国难民的揭露。

During Nanjing Massacre,Japanese news media which was tightly controlled by the Japanese authorities, published a large number of deliberately falsified text reports and pictures sent back by military correspondents from the warfront which tried to cover up and whitewash the harsh reality of Nanjing massacre by the Japanese army after the occupation of Nanjing and fabricated the ＂peaceful＂ scene that social order had been quickly restored,and that Chinese people were living, working in contentment and grateful for the Japanese army. This was the most important means and content of the report used by Japanese news media during Nanjing Massacre, which was refuted by Western journalists and Chinese refugees
