Study on Two Pieces of Inscriptions on Bronze Weapon During the Warring States Period

摘要 In inscriptions on weapons from Sanjin States,ye(冶) is the abbreviation of ’yeyin’,which was the title of lower rank official. On bronze weapons from the Qin state,inscription’gengzhang’refers to gengren zhizhang (the headman of gengren). In the Qin state,criminals were generally called as ’gengren’ and ’gengzhang’ should mean the headman of criminals instead of officials.
