国外边缘旅游研究进展及其对中国的启示

On the Progress of Foreign Study on Tourism in Peripheral Areas and Its Enlightenment to China

随着旅游全球化趋势的增强,边缘地区越来越被整合到整个世界旅游体系中。边缘地区的原野性和未被破坏的自然环境符合了旅游者对"基于自然的旅游"的需求。边缘地区往往想通过发展旅游,改变落后的现状,但边缘地区的若干先天不足则构成制约条件,限制其可持续发展。边缘发展旅游面临的问题是什么?会产生哪些经济、社会、环境影响?能否缩小区域差异?是否已有一些成熟的经验?针对以上问题,本文对国外边缘旅游的概念、特征、发展的主题、存在的问题以及实现可持续发展的成熟经验进行了回顾,以期对我国旅游发展,特别是中、西部地区旅游的可持续发展有所启示。

With the strengthening of the trend of tourism globalization, outlying areas have been more and more integrated into entire world tourism system. The champaign and undisturbed natural environment conforms to the demand of tourists for ＂nature-based travel＂. People in outlying areas are longing for the change of their backward state by developing tourism, but congenital defect there has limited the sustainable development. What are the problems confronting their development of tourism？ Which impact on economy, society and environment will be produced？ Can regional gap be narrowed？ Have there been any mature experiences？ With these problems in mind, the paper makes retrospect about the concept, characteristics, main themes for development, the existing problems regarding overseas study on tourism in peripheral areas as well as some mature experiences for the realization of sustainable development in the hope of providing some enlightenment for the sustainable development in China, especially in the middle and western regions.
