Abstract In foundry the key to improve cast iron quality is high quality liquid iron which has proper chemical composition,moisture and temperature etc.of which the temperature is the most important quality index which has very close relation with casting defects,mechanical properties and energy consumption.So by developing temperature measurement technique to satisfy melting control demand,high quality liquid iron can be obtained.
