摘要
本文尝试通过分析《天路历程》方言译本中的图文修辞方式,来展示作为一种记忆之“门”的复调铭写。清未粤语版《天路历程土话》通过章回小说、绣像画插图及修改故事情节等修辞方式,重组记忆的空间形式,把《天路历程》所表达的存在于历史且表达为与救赎的时间性个体相勾连的天国窄门,转化为空间性的“门”。这样,有关信仰之语言事件的传讲就引入了有关“门”的不同铭写方式,而这正暗合了中国人对于上帝观念的记忆方式。
The paper is to study the representation of The Pilgrim's Progress in Chinese dialect and pictures as a polyphonic rewriting of the "gate" to memory. The Cantonese version of The Pilgrim's Progress in late Qing Dynasty turned the narrow gate leading to paradise as a historical existence connected to temporal individual of redemption into a spatial "gate" through the form of Chinese traditional novels with each chapter headed by a couplet giving the gist of its content, illustrated fine-lined portraits of main characters, rewriting of the sto- ries and spatial form of reorganizing memory. As a result, different writings of the "gate" are introduced into the representation of the lingual event about religious belief, which implicitly coincides with Chinese's way of religious memory.
