Formation of Street——Review on Hankou Street before 1861 from Historical Perspective

很长一段时间,人们对于空间的认识要么将空间看做其他事物的属物,要么仅将其视为一个背景。街道作为空间的一种类型,其形态演变与发展不能脱离社会生产和社会实践过程而存在。通过揭示1861年以前汉口街道形成的历史过程及其在历史进程中扮演的角色,力图阐释街道如何历史地＂产生＂并参与历史进程＂生产＂新的社会关系。唯有把街道纳入社会史的框架中,并将其视为社会史的同一过程,才能把握其变化的实质。

For a long time,the space only has been regarded as the appurtenance of the other thing or its background.Henri Lefebvre thinks that the space is not a pure physical space,but a outcome of social transformation and development.Meanwhile,the space produces complicated social relations and also participates in the history progress.So only taking the street into the frame of social history and regarding it as a same process of the social history,can we hold its real substance.According to this,the paper tries to reveal the historical evolvement of Hankou street before 1861 and also the role it had played in the progress of history.
