总结了明清以来尤其是解放后广东省徐闻县甘蔗糖业的发展概况,并提出了徐闻县甘蔗糖业未来发展的建议:大力推广节水型农业,解决干旱问题;实施科技兴蔗战略,落实栽培技术;调动蔗农积极性,提高甘蔗生产效益。

The history and status of sugarcane and sugar industry in Xuwen are elaborated. Sugges- tions are put forward for the future development of sugarcane and sugar industry in Xuwen County, including popularization of water-saving agriculture to solve the problem of drought; Implement the strategy for techno-scientific development of sugarcane; and exertion of the activity of the farmers to increase the benefit of sugarcane production.
