The function of centromere protein A on chromosome segregation during mitosis

摘要 有丝分裂是细胞生长和发育的重要过程,染色体的准确分离是其中最为关键的事件之一。着丝点蛋白A(centromere protein A,CENP-A)是一种组蛋白H3的变体,通过和H2A、H2B和H4形成特殊核小体而成为染色体分离的基础。多种辅助因子(如人的Holliday交叉识别蛋白等)与CENP-A形成复合物协同作用保证了有丝分裂的顺利完成。这些进展大大拓宽了人们对染色体分离机制的理解。 Mitosis is an important process of cell growth and development,and the accurate chromosome segregation is one of the most crucial events.The histone H3 variant CENP-A(centromere protein A) is the basis of chromosome segregation through special nucleosomes formation with histones H2A,H2B and H4.A variety of cofactors such as human HJURP(Holliday junction-recognizing protein),which form complex with CENP-A,ensure the successful accomplishment of mitosis.These advances significantly broaden the understanding of the chromosome segregation mechanism.
