Taiwan's Private School Investigation and Colonial Education Compilation in the Initial Period of Japanese Occupation

日据初期,日本殖民者在台殖民地教育面临着传统书房的激烈竞争,为了应对传统汉学教育的挑战,台湾总督府开展了全岛性的书房调查和整顿工作,对书房进行了所谓改良,意图改变书房作为汉学传播及中华文化留存之地的状况,推进台湾教育的殖民地化。书房改良在相当程度上影响了书房的原生状态,日语和日式同化教育开始渗透进来,其带来的影响,似不可低估。

Japanese Colonialist＇s colonial education in Taiwan was faced with intense competition of traditional private school in the initial peroid of Japanese occupation. In order to cope with the challenge of traditional Chinese education,Taiwan Viceroy Office carried out the private school investigation and rectification of whole island,and made so-called modification of private school. They attempted to change the status of the private school as the retained land of Sinology dissemination and Chinese culture,and to promote the colonization of Taiwan＇s education. Private school modification had influenced it＇s primary status quite a extent,Japanese and Japanese-style assimilation education began to infiltrate into Taiwan＇s education. The impact may not be underestimated.
