Allocation Mechanism of H.264 Parallel Video Coding

摘要 H.264作为新的视频压缩标准,采用了许多先进的算法,提供了很好的视频压缩质量。获得出色压缩效果和质量的代价是压缩编码算法复杂度的增加。为了寻求更高的编码速度,集群并行计算被运用到H.264的视频编码计算中。本文结合并行算法设计,通过对H.264视频编码的研究,分析了H.264可实现并行计算的任务单元选择;采用了片(Slice)级的H.264并行编码计算方法,并对其性能进行了测试和分析。 As a new video coding standard, H.264 adopts many advanced algorithms and provides high coding quality. And the acquisition of good coding effect and quality is at the cost of increasing the algorithms complexity. Then the high-perfermance parallel computing is applied in the H.264 video coding, thus to obtain a higher coding speed. This paper, in combination with parallel processing technique, studies H.264 video coding, discusses how to distribute the task unit for parallel computing. The slice-level H.264 parallel computing method is adopted, and its performance is tested and analyzed.
