This paper puts forward that the most optimal selection to improve Shanxi's trade and economy status is to develop electronic infonnation industry, integrated machinery, electric power and coal industry, new materials industry,biological technique and medicine industry based on high - tech. Meanwhile, it points out that the measures to achieve the goal are to develop electronic infonnation industry firstly and then the four rising industries so as to promote the development of the Shanxi's traditional pillar industries rapidly.
