Summary：Strengthened standardization and quality control in implementation of community-acquired pneumonia clinical pathway may help to minimize the arbitrary management in clinical practices and improve treatment efficiency,thereby protecting the interests of patients. This is the future direction of CAP treatment. The key of quality control included establishment of a more accurate assessment system for severity of CAP, commencing standard antibiotic therapy as early as possible according to severity of disease, and use of short-term therapy grad- ually in place of traditional treatment.
