The Reality of Human Being and Human Being in Reality——An Interpretation of the "People-oriented" Materialist Conception of History

近代西方人本主义的"以人为本"是从抽象的人出发的。马克思、恩格斯批判了旧唯物主义对人的抽象理解,从现实的人出发创立了唯物史观。马克思主义的"以(现实的)人为本"的真实意义在于:人的现实即人自身的实践活动决定了人的本质,构成了人类历史的真实内涵。科学发展观提出以人为本正是唯物史观在当代中国社会的具体表现。

The concept of ＂people-oriented＂ in modern Occidental humanism is based on its abstract conception of human being. Repudiating the abstract notion of human in the old materialism, Marx and Engels founded the historical materialism oriented at human being in reality, wherein the true sig- nificance is that the reality of human, namely, all the human practice, defines human property and constitutes the true meaning of human history. Scientific Concept of Development, by advocating the people-oriented concept, instantiates the materialist conception of history in modern China.
