科学研究证明,过量的紫外线会损坏人体的免疫系统,加速肌肤老化,使皮肤变黑、粗糙和松弛,导致一系列皮肤病,如产生黄褐斑和黑斑,甚至癌变。抗氧化剂能防止日光灼伤皮肤、皮肤光老化以及皮肤癌的发生。最近研究表明,含有维生素C、阿魏酸和根皮素的局部抗氧化剂可以减弱因紫外线暴晒而引起的皮肤损伤。由于防晒剂是作用于皮肤表面,对特定波长光的吸收,而抗氧化剂是作用于皮肤内部,抑制光催化作用的氧化变质,因此,对皮肤的最佳保护屏障是将抗氧化剂和防晒剂协同使用。
UV-irradiation,and subsequent induction of oxidative stress,lead to acute inflammatory reactions,including premature skin aging and skin cancer.Antioxidants can provide photo protective effects for skin.In a recent study,we demonstrated that a topical antioxidant mixture consisting of vitamin C,ferulic acid and phloretin attenuated the harmful effects of UV-exposure on skin in normal healthy volunteers,as demonstrated by UV-specific skin biomarkers.Since antioxidant work in the skin to neutralize oxidative stress and sunscreens work on the surface by absorbing certain ultraviolet wavelengths,optimal protection would be expected to be provided by using both an antioxidant and a sunscreen.
