诗歌是文学艺术宝库的瑰宝,其语言高度凝炼且表意丰富、韵律则有音乐之美,也因此难以译好。如何评价译诗优劣,许渊冲的"三美论"为我们提供参考标准。本文根据"三美论"分析"WhenYouAreOld"两译本各自所长和不足之处。

Poetry enjoys a high status in literature history. Its musical language, condensed expressions and rich images make it hard to translate. Many Chinese scholars have contributed lots of theories on the standard of translating poems, among which Xu Yuanchong ’s ＂Three Beauty Theory＂ is of great influence. Guided by his theory, the author of this paper tries to analyses the advantages and disadvantages of two different translation versions of ＂When You Are Old＂.
