Analyzing the performance of hybrid ARQ in wireless sensor networks

摘要 针对无线传感器网络中无线链路质量差异性和动态变化的问题和资源受限的特点,在无线传感器网络中使用交替重传的混合自动请求重传(hybrid ARQ,HARQ)方案实现自适应差错控制.该方案发送端使用1/2码率的纠错码来对数据编码,将码字的信息位和校验位分成2个数据包并交替传输,接收端由单个正确接收的数据包或者合并2个出错的数据包译码恢复原始数据.结合IEEE802.15.4标准规范和主流传感器节点平台参数,对ARQ协议和交替重传HARQ方案的能量效率、平均传输次数和传输成功率进行理论分析和仿真比较.结果表明,交替重传HARQ方案的性能明显优于ARQ技术. An alternate retransmission based hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) scheme was proposed to enable adaptive error control in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). In this scheme, a transmitter can encodes each data with a half rate error correction code and separate the data and the parities into two packets and then transmit them alternately. The original data from any correctly re- ceived packet alone or by decoding a combination of two corrupt versions of a packet were recovered by the receive. Based on IEEE 802.15.4 standards and popular sensor node platforms, the performance of ARQ and the HARQ scheme was analyzed in terms of energy efficiency, average transmission times, and packet delivery ratio. Simulation results show that the HARQ scheme outperforms ARQ significantly.
