The highly efficient thermophilic UASB system was applied in a corn alcohol draft organic wastewater treatment project, and the generated biogas is co-burned with coal in boiler to recover heat. The design of the thermophilic UASB system and biogas recovery system are described. The commissioning and operation of the project are also discussed in detail. In addition, the safety management and several matters needing attention in the biogas generation project are introduced.
