甘露糖结合凝集素（MBP）与肿瘤发生、发展密切相关。研究表明，MBP基因在甲状腺癌中呈差异表达。MBP可识别、结合肿瘤细胞及凋亡细胞，促进凋亡细胞的清除、抑制癌细胞的迁移及血管新生，从而抑制肿瘤的侵袭和转移。

Mannose binding lectin（MBL） is closely related to tumor formation and progression. We and others have confirmed that the MBL gene show differential expression in thyroid cancer. MBL can recognize or bind tumor cells or apoptotic cells, promote clearance of apoptotic cells, and inhibit tumor cells migration and angiogenesis. Thus, MBL can prevent tumor cells invasion and immigration.
